Rumah Makan di Garut

Our first stop after leaving Bandung, was a restaurant in Garut, to take lunch...
The restaurant was well located on the major road, and surrounded by rice field... good relaxing view and good yummy food... Below is Grilled Rice... the first time I tried this Indonesian food... yummy...

Seafood Paradise in Pangandaran

There are some blocks, where seafood restaurants are gathered... They are not as fancy as Jimbaran in Bali, but they are not expensive and tasteful...

Green Canyon

It's our favourite spot... with exciting wet experience... swimming and jumping into the river...
Boat trip costed Rp.75,000 and the tip to the guide Rp.100,000.

Batu Hiu, the Shark Rock?!

How is the place got its name? This shark came after the name, or the name came after this shark... (below)
Gi ngapain, Fan? ... (below)The maskot of the place, is feeling tired and taking a rest?

Citumang

New spot, located between Batu Hiu and Pangandaran Beach... had to go on a small road (below pic) in the middle of rice field... turn right somewhere... ask the villager... not worth going?!

To go to the real Citumang, you have to swim into the cave ... (below)

The Sea of Pangandaran

The cruise costed Rp.250,000 after bargaining... The sea was rough (according to us), but quite calm (according to our boat guide)... We rounded the peninsula and off-boarded at the other side of the peninsula...

Cagar Alam, the National Park

First "monyet" in the park found... (below)
Second "monyet" found trying to become a Spidermonkey... :) (below)
Below picture taken by the "monyet"... hmm... not bad... :)

Road Back from Pangandaran to Bandung

These are selected pics, taken on the way from Pangandaran to Bandung.
The pic of scooter is Mel's favourite pic. (below)These two small girls are on the way back from school. (below)The "Tanah Lot" of West Java?! Even this no-man-island cannot say NO to the election campaign flag. (below)

Kampung Naga, traditional village located near Garut

Kampung Naga (direct translation: Dragon Village), is a traditional village located between Garut and Tasikmalaya in West Java. We had a hard time to locate this village. This village is quite famous, since it is shown in travel guide book Lonely Planet as well as Japanese Arukikata. There are only 110 houses in the village, with the same number of families only are allowed to be in the "Kampung". The villagers keep their traditional life here and no electricity was introduced to the "Kampung" except the accu battery. To locate this "Kampung", on the way from Bandung to Tasikmalaya, pay attention to the sign board written "Kampung Naga" on the right side of the road. The road down to the Kampung is in the left side of the road from Bandung where there is a huge parking lot (Rp 50000 for the parking). Guides are waiting near the parking lot (it is a must to have a guide, commission is up to you). It is also possible to do a home stay in the village. 450 stairs down to the "Kampung". (below)
